I was commissioned by Bristol City Council to curate and deliver a number of free workshops as part of the City Centre and High Streets Culture and Event Programme in 3 very specific hard to engage areas.
“this experience went way over my expectations in terms of learning the simple things which make DIY easy and enjoyable”

The workshops had a theme of Repairing and/or Making, teaching repair skills and making skills designed to engage a wide demographic of local people from families to young people and retirees. I led the project which involved planning the workshops, securing venues, recruiting workshop leaders, facilitating, marketing and promoting the workshops.
I designed and tailored workshops to hit specific demographics, for example; a workshop in customising Phone Charging Cables – aimed at engaging young people and teaching them soldering skills. I also used my #HappyHeartBike to promote and engage local people.
“Amazing, I have learnt so much in such a short time.”
One of the highlights for me was running a soldering workshop in a Fish & Chip Shop – having to think outside the box when suitable venues were lacking.
